About the Course

Ocean modeling is a process of solving partial differential equations governing oceanic flows using computers. Modeling helps understanding the ocean processes better.

In this course the students will learn the various approaches in finite difference numerical analysis to solve differential equations. Numerical solutions to processes such as advection, diffusion will be obtained. An outline of large scale models will be covered.
